Easter Sunday – Death Is Just a Comma

We fear death because we think it’s final. It’s the period at the end of the sentence…or is it? We think a lot about what death does to us. Let’s think for a moment about what Jesus did to death. If it’s true…if he really did rise from the dead…death is just a comma.

Key Scriptures (New Living Translation unless otherwise noted):

  1. John 10:10 (NASB) – I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
  2. John 3:16 – Whoever believes in me will not perish but have everlasting life.
  3. John 11:25 – Anyone who believes in me will live, even after they die.
  4. Hebrews 2:14-15 – Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
